Live Love

As many of you know there are lots of exciting new opportunities coming with this new school year.  One of them is an opportunity for you (9th-12th graders) to give and serve on Sunday mornings.  We read in scripture that we are called to love God with all we have and love our neighbors.  Starting this school year we are rolling out a weekly opportunity for you to do just that, to Live Love.  God says in the Bible, "I will bless you, so that you will be a blessing."  In Gen. 12:2 God tells Abram "I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing."  We, like Abram, receive blessings from God not just to be blessed, rather so we can be a blessing... so we can bless others or "be God's channel of blessing to the rest of humanity."  At first, one could think, "Well why are you blessed in order to be a blessing and I'm not?"  I think one could easily argue that all receive blessings from God, each person's blessing looks different, but each person does have the opportunity to take that blessing and use it to become a blessing to others.  We believe each person has been blessed by God with different talents and abilities and it’s their responsibility to use that blessing to bless others...just like Abram did.  Starting this Sunday August 21st, 9th-12th graders will have the opportunity to serve, to give, to volunteer, to Live Love in lots of different ministries every Sunday.  Some areas in which you could serve in are Confirmation, Junior High Life Group Leader, Children’s Choir, Children’s Ministry, as Greeters and Ushers in the Sanctuary and in Cornerstone, with the Tech Team, and with Special Needs Children.  We know many of you may not have any idea how you want to serve on Sunday's...or maybe you know exactly how you want to help...no matter your situation, we please contact Phil Dieke at DiekeP@hpumc.org to find out more about how you can Live Love each and every Sunday as a part of your worship experience.
